Fedaia Lake
The Fedaia lake is situated at 2030 m of height on the pass having the same name.
The lake is divided into the natural and the artificial parts: the first is bounded by a 60 m high dam making it useful for hydroelectric power production. The other side of the lake, the natural one, is delimited by moraine sediments and has a total length of around 160 meters.
The Fedaia Pass (from the latin "feda" which means sheep), that can be visited either in summer or in winter, is situated in front of the Marmolada's glacier. The southern mountainside faces the peaks of: Gran Vernel, la Roda de Mulon, il Col de Bousc, la Forcella Marmolada, Punta Penia, Punta Rocca e Punta Serauta; while the northern side consists of a long grassy crown and offers a magnificent view on the peaks of: del Sas de Ciapel, la Forfesc, il giogo di Porta Vescovo, la forcella Europa, le Crepes de Padon, e il Passo Padon.
Skiers and particularly, off-slope skiers, will have a lot of fun from February to May thanks to the connection between Marmolada and the rope way of Pian de Fiacconi. The walkers and hikers can enjoy great unforgettable panoramas during the warmer months where they have the possibility to follow international conflict itineraries.
