Panoramic Itinerary - from Riva del Garda a Canazei
A really suggestive panorama for a not difficult itinerary.
Departing from Riva del Garda in direction of S.S. 45Bis, cross Arco and follow the direction Dro - Pietramurata, turn left where you are on S.P. 214 and after about 5 km turn right on the S.P. 84, then continue for Cavedine - Lasino. Before Lasino turn right on the S.P. 85 in direction of Passo Bondone - Lagolo - Padergnone - Viotte Hut. Small break...
After a few meters turn right and follow the direction Aldeno - Folgaria.
Continue on S.S. 350 and then on S.S. 349 until you arrive to Lavarone.
So, take the S.S. 47 in direction of Levico Terme - Pergine.
Continue on the S.S. 48 La Strada delle Dolomiti (the Dolomites road) up to Cavalese - Fiemme Valley and continue through the Fassa Valley.
Variant: from Cavalese go up to Passo Lavazè (S.S. 620) and arrive to Obereggen, famous Ski resort at the feet of the Latemar mountain group; follow the road and go downhill to the picturesque village of Ega/Eggen and then take again the road S.S. 620 that goes down to Lavazè.

 

From the Fassa valley you can also continue through:
San Pellegrino Pass, in direction of Falcade - Agorno - Belluno
from Vigo di Fassa throughout the Costalunga Pass - go uphill to the picturesque Lake of Carezza (Karersee) - one of the most famous lakes of the Dolomites of green and blu colors that mirror the mountains of Catinaccio on the East and the one of Latemar on the South.
From Canazei go up to the Pordoi or Fedaia Pass.

 

Itinerary "La strada delle Dolomiti" (the Dolomites' Road) from Merano to Cortina
A lot of hairpin bends uphill and downhill... but you'll be rewarded for your hard work by the astonishing views.
Departing from Merano, you descend to Bolzano and follow the North-Eastern direction through the strait gorge that opens the Ega Valley, so continue to Ponte Nova.

Now turn left to Nova Levante along the road that leads to Costalunga Pass (1745 m): just before the pass, on the right, you'll find and Carezza Lake, one of the most famous lake of the Dolomites, of marvelous green and blue colors mirroring the mountains of Catinaccio at East and Latemar at South.
From the lake to the pass the road is short and easy. The descend to Vigo di Fassa though is steeper and a bit tortuous. Now, turn left and follow the direction to Canazei through various villages deep in the valley.
A steep uphill to Pordoi Pass (2239 m). Along this track you are able to admire the Sasso Lungo group at North-West, the massive of Sella on the North and Marmolada with its glacier at South.
The asphalt is covered with inscriptions that cheer on cyclists of Giro d'Italia because the Pordoi pass has always been a protagonist in this prestigious cycling competition. At the top of the pass on the left there is a rope way that takes you to the peak of Sass Pordoi of Sella group at the height of 3000 m.
The roads descends in direction of Arabba and then touches the Col di Lana - former theater of the 1st world war.
Uphill to the Falzarego Pass (2105 m). From there you have a great panorama up through the Marmolada's glacier (3343 m) to South-West, while it is closed at West by the Sas di Stria (2477 m) and to the South by Averau. At the point, go downhill to Cortina d'Ampezzo - Belluno.

 

Itinerary "Giro d'Italia" from Feltre to Selva Val Gardena
Up and down throughout the most famous Italian passes... crossing three Provinces.
This time we depart from Feltre, Belluno Province and across the road S.S.50 we pass the cities of Belluno and Ponte nelle Alpi (we advise you to take to the left to Piave).
Take the S.S.51 in direction of Pieve di Cadore - Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Arrived to the famous Dolomites Perl, take the direction of S.S. 48 for Procol and Falzarego Pass (2105 m). From here you have a great panoramic view until the Marmolada's Glacier (3343 m) to the South West which is closed on the West by Sas di Stria (2477 m) and on the South by Averau.
Go downhill along the road S.S. 48 in direction of Caprile and Rocca Pietore. Continue on the S.S. 641 for the Fedaia Pass (2057 m). Pay attention as the pass is frequently closed for excessive snow during winter.
Go downhill towards Canazei along the road S.S. 641. Take the S.S. 242 for the Sella Pass.
Continue on the S.S. 242 for Plan de Gralba/Kreuzboden and reach Selva Gardena located in Bolzano Province.

Crossing: Bolzano - Bressanone - Chiusa - to the left through the Gardena Valley and in direction Ortiser up to Selva - to the left by the Gardena Pass - Colfosco - Corvara up to La Villa - to the right for S. Cassiano - Valparola Pass - Falzarego Pass - Arabba - Pordoi Pass - Canazei - Vigo di Fassa - Costalunga Pass - Ega Valley and return.
Length of the track: around 230 km.

The Dolomites
Departure from: Brunico
Crossing: Brunico - Dobbiaco - to the right Cortina d'Ampezzo - after 13km by Carbonin-Schulderbach to the left for Misurina - Passo Monte Croce for Cortina d'Ampezzo - direction of Arabba - after 6km at Pocol on the Giau Pass - Caprile - on the right the Fedaia Pass - Canazei - Sella Pass - Gardena Valley - Chiusa and return.
Length of the track: about 230 km.
