Sella Pass

The Sella Pass is situated at a height of 2240 meters and creates connections throughout the whole Fassa Valley, especially from Canazei to the Gardena Valley. It's an alpine dolomites pass located between Sassolungo and Sella Group. Either in winter or in summer, Sella Pass is a very crowded place as it offers lots of sports oportunities. Walks or cross country skiing over the mountains of Col Rodella, Belvedere and the famous Sella Ronda.
In the Sella Pass area you can also find the naturalistic area called Stone City (Città dei Sassi), a stone and tree labyrinth that has been declared by the UNESCO as humanity patrimony and, in the last years it has become one the sacred places for free climbing.
But the Sella Pass is also starved by the cyclists, as for many times it's been mounted by the Giro d'Italia and thus represents one of the most legendary passes where cycling competitions of the strongest cyclists of all the times took place.
The pass is not particularly tough compared to the other alpine passes, but it is inserted in a circuit that is unique in the world for its technical and panoramic features. Everybody knows Sellaronda (or the roundtrip of Sella group, or also called the 4 passes round), that offers climbing throughout its 4 passes: Campolongo, Pordoi, Gardena and Sella.
