Things to do

Belvedere Ski area
From Canazei, by taking the modern automatic hook up rope way Canazei/Pecol", you can reach Belvedere/Col Rodella Ski area. There are lots of slopes but you can also easily reach from here the neighboring areas of Gardena Valley, Arabba bowl or other Sellaronda villages and areas. Snowboarders will find in Belvedere a really unique snowboard park in the whole ski resort, with ski jumps excavated in the snow and half pipe trail.
The Pordoi's Fork is a semi-off-piste skiing slope and, therefore, not always practicable.

Col Rodella Ski area
The Ski area Col Rodella can be reached from Campitello Fassa, by means of a big and modern ope way that departs from the sports camp (Ischia town). From Col Rodella you can chose among a variety of skiing slopes and you can reach Belvedere Ski area through the slope "Col Rodella Lupo Bianco" (Col Rodella White Wolf). In a few minutes you can practice downhill skiing from the Sella Pass to the Gardena Valley and the circuit of Sellaronda Ski Area of Marmolada.
Marmolada, with its 3343 m, is the highest mountain in the Dolomites, the Queen. His southern mountainside is covered with snow as it is a glacier, and people can also go skiing in summertime.
From Ciapela Hut you reach Marmolada by the rope way, with the possibility to go down in Serauta (where you can visit the Big War Museum) or in Punta Rocca. You will fly above 18,4 km of skiing slopes. A slope that we can recommend you is the "Bellunese" which from Punta Rocca goes down to Malga Ciapela, one of the longest slopes in Europe. It has in fact a length of around 12 km, starting from the hight of 3.300 meters and ends at a hight of 1.500 meters. While cross-country skiers can enjoy 3 rings.

Ciampac Ski area
From the Ski area of Ciampac you can see a unique and breath taking 360° view on the Dolomites: Marmolada, Sassolungo, Sella and Pordoi. Thanks to the Ciampac rope way that will take you to the hight of 2160 m from 1500 m, you can reach the Ski Area of Alba Canazei. This Ski Area is very well equipped and offers a large solarium and a snow park for children.
One of the big news in Ciampac Ski Area is the connection with the Buffaure Ski Area that this way opens a great scenario on the SKITOUR Panorama Ciampac - Buffaure. Two new chair lifts (Orsa Maggiore and Pala Geiger) connect the two ski areas between them and bring to the skier not only lots of new slopes, but also unique panoramic views: from the Latemar to the Catinaccio, Sassolungo, Pordoi, Marmolada and Monzoni group.

Snowboard
Surfing on the fresh snow. Fizzy air that seams to cut the board as well. The mountain peaks are completely white. This is how you feel really alive. Loose pants and a cap... and you are on the Belvedere Snow Park in Canazei.
We kindly advise you before starting any freeride itinerary to accurately plan every excursion.

A good planning is when you have done all the following:

  • Have gathered accurate information about weather and risk of avalanches (ask the alpine guides)
  • Know already the itinerary in both directions up and down hill. With this purpose you can study alpine ski manuals and topographic maps. Take also advise from articles of newspapers and magazines, ask the alpine guide of the places you are staying at, get in touch with the local people that will give you more info, even local snowboard shops are a very good information resource.
  • Always tell some one the detailed itinerary you intend to follow, number of participants and the duration of your excursion.
  • Make sure the group you are going on a freeride has good skills.

Events you cannot lose
